Hi, I'm Muhammad Refansa — Refan for short.
Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering
I graduated with a focus on Electronics from Universitas Indonesia.
From concept to circuit
What follows is what I've built.
Every project here taught me something the last one didn't.

Physical Design — RTL to GDSII
Verilog to GDSII, with Yosys, OpenROAD, and KLayout.
A timing violation, diagnosed and fixed — 0 violations at 2 GHz, 65% less power.
8 stages, from placement to timing analysis
ibex RISC-V Core
A real RISC-V CPU, 31.7k instances, missing timing by 15 ps across 240 paths. Traced the worst path to one undersized cell, then closed all 240 violations: 8 upsized cells and 2 pin swaps, verified in post-repair STA.

FPGA
Verilog and HLS on the Zybo Z7-10.
ESP32 + Zybo Motion Classifier
A neural net, trained in Python and synthesized with hls4ml, classifies live ESP32 motion data right in the Zynq-7010's fabric, achieving ~150ns latency, 77.4% accuracy, and no accuracy loss from quantization.

IoT & Smart Energy
Smart energy hardware, embedded IoT, a utility internship, and university research.
PrioWatt
A kWh meter with priority-based automatic load-shedding, built end to end with ESP32-based smart sockets, live power and cost readings, and the Despro Android app that controls them.
FOTRIX
A solar-powered reactor making hydrogen and breaking down microplastics from seawater, built end to end with the reactor hardware and the FOTRIX Android app that controls it. National finalist, PIMNAS 38 — Indonesia's national student science competition.
Voice Command Lamp
Voice-controlled lighting on an ESP32, connected to a companion app over BLE. 3-person team.
PLN — Substation SCADA
Internship at PLN, Indonesia's national electricity utility — hands-on with substation SCADA, relay panels, and live control rooms.
Dr. Tomy Abuzairi's Research Group
Research assistant, Dr. Tomy Abuzairi's group, Universitas Indonesia, working across plasma generators for biomedical instrumentation, smart battery systems for renewable energy, and embedded systems.
Android Apps
Built with Flutter to control and monitor the hardware behind them.
Despro
The app behind PrioWatt. Per-socket control, priority-based load-shedding, usage analytics, and AI-driven savings tips.
